Massage: One's Addictive Journey

Going to the spa is one of my addictions. The pressure, the soothing strokes, the relaxed state afterwards, who wouldn't love it?

But, would you believe, I used to hate having a massage! That was when massage means going to the local 'manghihilot' and enduring a painful rubbing of my back and or the affected body part/s like ankle or shoulder.

I bet you're wondering what made me change my mind about having a massage. Read on!

How it all started
One Saturday afternoon back in my Junior year in College my classmate Jen and I went to the mall to buy stuffs. While she hopped from one boutique to another to find the latest stuffs, I, on the other hand remained in Booksale and browsed their wide selection of second-hand books and magazines. That left both of us with aching backs and sore feet. Here comes Jen's brilliant suggestion that we go to the blind massage parlor located just a floor up from where we are to ease our tired muscles. I was quite hesitant because of my experience with a 'manghihilot' in my younger years that's painful but still went ahead for it promised relief for my tired muscles.

Air, space and everything else...
The massage parlor's space is cramped and the smell of liniment hung in the air. It has 4 cubicle-like space with a bed that's separated by a thin curtain. My therapist made me lie on the bed face down and the magic begins! The pressure's just enough to ease my tired back muscles, the strokes lulled me to sleep.

I went outside the massage parlor feeling oh so relaxed. Days after, I still am hung over with the massage I had. My addiction with massage started here.

Cost of the back massage is Php 120 for 45 mins.
